The Calgary Film Centre, Edmonton Screen Industries Office, the Calgary Film Commission, Alberta Film Commission and the Alberta Media Production Industries Association in partnership with Access Canada, are proud to announce the second cohort of the Alberta Producer Accelerator (APA) Program.
This second iteration of the APA will focus on Scripted Television.
The APA Program: Scripted Television will offer training, one-to-one mentorship, and access to key decision-makers for up to ten (10) selected television producers. The six-week curriculum is comprised of weekly one-to-one mentorship sessions along with industry expert-led online group master classes designed to further develop the participants’ projects. Following the courses, the program culminates with vital one-on-one pitch opportunities for the participants with national and international buyers in the entertainment industry, matched to their project’s genre.
Each applicant will be considered for the program based on their application and their scripted television project.
The APA Program is open to producers with a registered Alberta business, who have worked in the industry for 3+years. Applicants must have a scripted television project in development with a minimum of a completed script and synopsis.
With so few spots available, applicants will only be considered for the APA if they can commit to participating in the full curriculum, including attending all of the courses and completing all of the assignments required to move their projects through the program.
COURSES WILL TAKE PLACE FROM NOVEMBER 15 – DECEMBER 22, 2022 ON TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS BETWEEN 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm MT. Failure to attend the courses without legitimate reason will result in exclusion from the pitching component of the APA.
Please note that scripted television projects in the Kids’ genre are not eligible for this cohort.
